🚨 A Security Update from StickerHub

Hi StickerHub community,

Between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM ET on July 22, 2026, some users received strange, alarming, and offensive notifications from StickerHub. We know those messages caused confusion and concern, especially because they falsely claimed that StickerHub sold user data or that users’ accounts/devices were unsafe.

We’re sorry this happened.

Here’s a clear explanation of what happened, what was affected, and what you should do next.

Was StickerHub hacked?

Yes, but the incident was limited to our notification system.

During the affected period, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM ET on July 22, 2026, an unauthorized party broke into the credentials of our notification platform and used it to send false and malicious messages to users. These messages were not written, approved, or sent by the StickerHub team.

The affected notification channel has now been secured. Access has been revoked, security protections have been strengthened, and going forward only authorized internal developers will have permission to send system-level notifications.

However, notifications that had already been sent could not be recalled. That is why some users may still have seen, been disturbed by, or been misled by those messages after they were sent.

Importantly: our user database, account system, payment information, app functionality, and core product code were not affected by this notification incident.

Was my personal data sold?

No. StickerHub does not sell user data.

We want to be very clear on this point: selling user data is against how we operate and against what we believe in as a product. StickerHub has normal business and monetization models, and our brand, user trust, and long-term service quality matter far more to us than any harmful or unethical use of user data.

After reviewing this incident, we found no evidence that our user database was accessed, leaked, or sold. The attack was limited to the notification-sending channel. User data is stored separately from the notification tool and is protected by internal access controls and security measures.

The claims in the unauthorized notifications were false and malicious.

What about the website linked in the hacker’s messages?

The external website linked in the unauthorized notifications was not created by StickerHub.

It contains fabricated claims and false information. The people named on that page, including “Qin Tao” and “Ben Lam,” are not members of the StickerHub team. The page appears to be malicious retaliation and defamation against StickerHub, not a legitimate security report.

Please do not treat that website as an official source of information.

Is my Monopoly GO account at risk? Are my stickers safe?

Your Monopoly GO account and stickers are not at risk because of this incident.

This incident was limited to StickerHub’s notification system. It did not give the unauthorized party access to your Monopoly GO account, your StickerHub account, your sticker inventory, or your in-app trading activity.

Your stickers were not accessed, stolen, or transferred through this notification incident.

If you clicked the external link in one of the unauthorized messages, please do not enter any Monopoly GO, StickerHub, or payment information on that website. The site was not created, operated, or endorsed by StickerHub.

Can this incident access my phone payments or personal phone information?

No. Simply receiving a StickerHub push notification cannot access your phone payments, banking apps, photos, contacts, messages, or other personal information stored on your device.

This incident was limited to unauthorized use of a notification-sending channel. It did not give the attacker access to your phone, your device system, your payment apps, or your personal files.

If you clicked the external link, avoid entering any personal, payment, or account information there. If you are still concerned, you can close the page and run your device’s standard security check.

Did receiving the notification install malware?

No. Simply receiving a push notification does not install malware on your device.

However, some notifications included an external link. That link was not created, operated, or endorsed by StickerHub.

What should I do if I received these notifications?

Please do not click the link in those messages.

If you already clicked it, please do not enter any personal information, passwords, payment details, or account information on that website. It was created by an outside party with malicious intent toward StickerHub, and we cannot guarantee its safety.

If you clicked the link but did not submit any information, there is currently no evidence that your StickerHub account was affected. If you are still concerned, you can run your device’s standard security check and contact us through in-app support.

Can I continue using StickerHub?

Yes. You can continue using StickerHub.

The issue was limited to the notification channel and has now been contained. Your StickerHub account is safe to use, and the app’s core features, account system, payment information, and user database were not affected by this incident.

If anything in your account still looks unusual, please contact us through in-app support and our team will help check it.

What we’ve done

  • Disabled and secured the affected notification channel
  • Revoked the compromised access
  • Reviewed whether user data systems were affected
  • Confirmed there is no evidence of user database access or sale
  • Strengthened notification permissions and internal security controls
  • Limited future notification access to authorized internal developers only
  • Responding across our official channels to explain the situation and support affected users

We understand why many users felt worried, angry, or unsafe after receiving those messages. The fact that this happened through a StickerHub notification channel made the situation more serious and more frightening, even though the claims in those messages were false.

For that, we sincerely apologize.

We are continuing to respond across our official website, in-app support, app updates, social channels, and community spaces to clarify the impact, answer questions, and support users who were affected or concerned.

We will keep monitoring the situation and will update users if anything changes.

Thank you,
The StickerHub Team 💙
